Sketches from Week 3 (March 25th - 31st)

So, this week:

I'm finally feeling some kind of electrical twinges of nervousness (excitement? both?) from the looming thunderstorms of activity...

However, right now I'm just happy that I had some solo time at the ranch this weekend to work on some prototyping and organize things for this very soon-to-be week of insanity...

Coachella music festival is right around the corner and Thea's been working hard to finish up the last upholstery covers for the bedhouses going backstage... somewhere around there she still found time to find a really colorful Easter basket that put my new marker colors to the test...

Lucidity Festival is also right around the corner and I've had some great help in prepping all the flagpoles for it (local bamboo from Skip's property). Thanks Colin and Ashley! Brandon also dropped by with some custom slings we designed to lift and loadout a couple hundred poles at one go... Guner rolled out his monster Pettibone fork for a test lift and it worked out pretty well. Nothing fell, anyway... and then Ogle showed up with some beers. Awww, Ogle!

EDC is not quite around the corner... perhaps the next neighborhood over... but I just picked up all the steel pipe that I had roll formed at Santa Fe Bending in Paramount, CA... nice work! Thanks to Frank for his gruff proficiency and Jacqui for her inimitable cheerfulness :)

I love my Mackie speaker, almost as much as I love my Tacoma. They work well together as a team, too, because while Mackie is plugged into Tacoma's inverter, I can park them next to wherever I'm working and GO GO GO...

And thanks again to Alexander, my nephew, who was kind enough to visit and asked me to draw the pretty purple flowers growing wild all over Orella Ranch...

Finally, after today's rains, I drove home from Orella and had to stop for the setting sun's rays flashing through the mist.. I hope the Lucid Stage I'm supposed to build can make people stop in their tracks like that...

Nos vemos,

G
