Sketches from Week 14 (June 10 - 16, 2013)

The Bamboo DNA ranch was busy this week ! In addition to the usual madhouse loadout for Electric Daisy Carnival in Vegas, a few people dropped by for random things…

Erika has been busy remaking her house, which included some lights she wanted to create using our tools and some extra bamboo flooring she had. That’s her with the tablesaw…

Jason hopped on the reach fork to load one giant bamboo “burrito” onto a stakebed truck destined for Carey’s installation at Electric Forest festival in Michigan. Basically, he just needed to rent and buy a lot of nice guadua poles for his project and I happened to have them…

More rolled steel pipe… I’m addicted! It’s just so damn useful in tandem with the bamboo poles. The EDC structure will feature 400+ feet of a curvilinear steel framework which will then be skinned with 1400 bamboo poles to create a wandering tunnel-like atmosphere and arena. Jon and Erika have been tasked with lighting the beast so we hope to give them all the support they need.

Friday the 14th… off we go! Thanks to Lynda for saving the day (again) with finding a great house for the team to crash in while in Vegas for the EDC gig. Pool, hot tub, kitchen… what else could we want???
